The JOHN LENNON SONGBOOK in concert
The latest show starring John Waters and Stewart D’Arrietta The John Lennon Songbook in Concert is on tour this Spring with the fabulous Liverpool Band, bringing the newest instalment of their hugely successful interpretation of Lennon’s music.
John Waters and Stewart D’Arrietta have achieved world-wide acclaim for their two-man show 'Lennon Through a Glass Onion', which began touring in 1992 and has become loved by an ever-widening audience with every tour since then.
Glass Onion’s mixture of song, inner thoughts, humour and truthfulness has drawn glowing reviews in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Edinburgh and New York.
The John Lennon Songbook in Concert is an exciting new experience for Waters and Stewart. Waters said the new show was less ‘theatrical’ than Glass Onion and brings with it its own new energy.
“The Songbook is in essence a band gig, and a more intimate style of bringing these incredible songs to new and returning audiences,” John Waters said. “We do it in our own way, and it gives us a more personal interaction with our audience, which is such a happy and direct vibe.”
“It feels like we’re all finally getting together again. For two years the whole world has had to stop, and now that we have the chance to congregate and celebrate, we need something like this. I know I do.”
